Late Night Scrap

Morning everyone!

Thought I'd pop in with a few photos I took of the shop last night at the Late Night Scrap!

For those of you who have not been to a Late Night Scrap, it's a really good night. Held every second Friday night from 6pm to 10pm, it's the perfect opportunity to come in and have myself or Jane help you finish off a project or help you design a page or just come in and utilize the workroom! You do need to book in and it's only $15.00 and you get 10% off all your purchases! We put on a nice supper too (chocolates, lollies, cupcake, cheese & biscuits and coffee if I have time). It's a great way to spend a Friday night with your friends!

The shop is looking great at the moment and there is sooo much new stock on the shelves too!
There are lots of upcoming classes on display for you to choose from. We try to have our projects up for you to see at least 2 weeks before the class but if there is something not up there, please dont hesitate to ask one of the girls for information - we are only happy to help!

On Tuesday morning I am teaching "Nat's Chipboard Page" and there are still a few places left in it. Here is a sneaky peek... (it's a double!)

And on May 6th I am doing "Scrap the Boys" - another double - this is perfect for our husbands or partners or even the older boys in our lives but in saying that, there is no reason why it would not suit the kids too. There is only 3 spaces left in the class to book in now!

Page Maps will be on Monday May 3rd at 7pm and the 3 pages are quite easy this month!

Photo requirements are ..
Page 1 - 1 portrait 6x4
Page 2 - 1 portrait 6x4
Page 3 - 2 portrait 6x4

There are a few workroom days free next week but please call the shop before you come in just to make sure that there is table space available. 8277 1298!

Hope to see you all really soon!

**Warning** Long and Fabulous Blog Post!!!

So much to tell you ......

Jane and I had an absolute ball in Brisbane last week!

As most of you know, one of our main suppliers here in Australia is Printblocks.
Over the last few days in Brisbane, they have held free classes and information sessions showcasing thier latest and greatest products. We spent a lot of time shopping in the warehouse which was rather fun and did quite a few classes! Jane and I flew into Brissy on Wednesday night and spent Thursday and Friday partaking in all sorts of classes. We met and mingled with about 12 international teachers, guests, designers from all of our favourite brands. Jane did classes with Lynette Carroll and Fancy Pants and I did classes with EK Success using some amazing K&Company products, Core'Dinations cardstock, Bo Bunny using the new Mama-Razzi line and Making Memories Slice using the AWESOME new magnetic Hands Free Kit.There were17 Make and Take Booths set up in the warehouse were we both learnt new and fabulous techniques and got to play with some new products.
Undoubtedly our favourite booth was the Graphic 45 one where Jane's work was up on display. Diane and Aimee from G45 spent their whole 2 days showing off Jane's beautiful work and creating the most delicious brooches with all the attendees! Jane became quite the celebrity with her final design team project being on display. (made me a little proud to be there with her!)
Aimee, Jane and Founder of Graphic 45, Diane

So we came home tired and weary but full of fabulous ideas and inspiration.

Another exciting week..........and a Guest Teacher

We had some wonderful classes over the weekend. I hope everyone enjoyed them and created something new.

This week is full of great classes for the kids!

Tuesday morning is Kathy's Kidz Cards class at 10am followed by Jane's Teen Girl Page on Wednesday at 10am. Thursday morning is a Kidz Wooden Tags class with Sam. This is the cutest project suitable for both boys and girls aged 8+. All the kids classes are only $8 with materials being a little extra! The tags class has a $4.50 kit.

Here is a sneak peek of a class I am doing on Thursday 22nd of April - Scrap The Girls. This page is more for the older girls or even scrap a photo of yourself. Some new technique to be experienced in this one ladies so book in now!

In May we have an exciting Guest Teacher.
Louise Nelson, who many of you may know already, has been asked to teach a few classes! Louise has been published many times in her scrapbooking career and in 2009 was part of the Scrapbooking Memories Magaize Creative Team. She is currently on the Aussie Scrap Source Design Team and also the Scrapware Design Team. Lou also runs the Aussie Scrapjack Challenge website that is a great place to go to get your creative juices flowing! Her first class on May 8th has already booked out but she will be repeating it on May 20th at 7pm.

Here is a description of the class by Lou ...

Using the wonderful Autumn Leaves book "The Designing With Recipe Book' that is packed with Inspiration and which Jane is selling in the shop. I have started my series of classes with a lovely layout created by Cathy Blackstone based on 'recipe' which you will receive in your class kit. I have used a lovely range of patterned papers from Basic Grey from the Indian Summer range. This layout suites the use of multiple photos [check out the original in the shop] but if you would like to bring some photos to class it would suit black and white, sepia, a combination of both, and/or photos that are earthy colors. For the 'Male' version of this recipe I have done a simple mainstream copy of Cathy's layout. However, if you are feeling slightly adventurous I have also completed a Female version of the recipe, that is more freestyle in its approach but very simple and easy to follow. Once again I have used some glorious Basic Grey patterned papers, from the Lemonade and Origins ranges. They are the most gorgeous yellows and greens with a subtle dash of pink. For this layout design it would suit a single portrait or landscape photo 4.5" x 3.5".
So dont miss this opportunity to be taught something different by one of the best....

1st Graphic 45 Class

Ok, so I am eager to get started.
Here is what I have planned. Each month I will do a Graphic 45 layout or project. I have 10 projects/layouts already done. This is because I had to send 10 projects/layouts to enter the design teams 1st round. I will be teaching 6-7 of them. A lot of you saw my final project for the 2nd round in the making and have asked if I will teach it. I will need to check with Graphic 45 about it, as the book is theirs to keep. I would like to make it again for me to keep and teach it at the same time. Only this time it will be slightly bigger with more pages in it and different embelishments. The Classes will need to be Master Classes and not for the faint hearted.
But getting back to the monthly Graphic 45 classes - the first one is on Saturday April 10th at 10am-12.30pm. You will need to bring a 4x6 (portrait) The paper range is "Play Times Past, so its perfect for a child/children's layout. It is one of my favorite layouts to date. Next Month Layout is a male one. My title is Great Mates, and it's a layout on my husband and son.
You won't want to miss these classes so ring the shop on Tuesday and book in.
Thanks for looking
Jane

Still Pinching my self

Wow, what can I say, still getting use to the idea that I am on the Graphic 45 Design Team for a whole year! Congratulations to the other ladies on the team. I am feeling a bit sorry for those who missed out. But the great new for me is that, this means I get to do layouts and projects for G45 and get to share my year with Graphic 45 with you. To start the ball rolling I will be teaching one of the layouts I sent Graphic 45 for the first round of their design team call. Its a single layout using Play Times Past. I will post a sneak peek on the blog tomorrow as I am at home today do some housework. The class will be on April 10th at 10am. You will need to bring a 4x6 photo (portrait-meaning 4inches across and 6inches down). I have used a photo of Anna on a merry-go-round, but any photo of a child will do. A close-up shot will be great, it is more of a girls page than a boys. I have a lovely G45 page for the males next month.

Thanks for looking

Jane
